EVENINGS WITH UNKLE SLEAZY

The idea of traveling 10,000 or even 20,000 miles to play a show, or talk to a few hundred people (not to mention the accompanying carbon and financial cost) is becoming less attractive by the day, so I thought “Why not do a show at home, and broadcast it live on the Net?”

Well it turns out it’s not as easy as that. First of all there’s only enough fiber under the Pacific, or through the Middle East, to get you a pretty small picture of me a few times a second :-) and secondly, folks in San Fransisco most likely will not want to watch my show at the same time as folks in Berlin, and I’ll be in bed then anyway!

So I thought “Maybe a Podcast would be better” – people can watch them when they like, and I don’t have to be on top form at 4am!

So my current plan is to produce a series of HD video-podcasts, which you will be able to subscribe to.

Some of the podcasts will contain me playing new music, others will be more like Conceptual Art – Like my still images but these will be films, podcasts, designed to play on your computer, Media Center, i-pod, pad or whatever, of things I think are interesting, that will bring a new richness to your environment – oil lamps flickering at wayside shrines, creaking barges and (occasionally) the sea-pirate kids who play on them, visits to supposedly haunted houses, monsoon rain on decaying rooftops, night-time in the Temple grounds…

Some may even be made to play while you sleep… The sound of the rain here is incredibly therapeutic, and I think it would be great to have a looping film of monsoon rains at night gently playing on your i-pad, as you, (and it) recharge overnight.
